Adoption Process for Maine Coon Kittens at Feathercoons

At Feathercoons, our adoption process is intentionally thoughtful and selective. We focus on health, temperament, and lifelong placement to ensure each Maine Coon kitten is matched with the right home. This page outlines our pricing, application process, and what to expect when applying.

Due to the limited nature of our breeding program, we prioritize placing our kittens in the best homes. Our prices are currently $4000 - $4500. This reflects the premium quality of our breeding program, the amount of research dedicated to finding beautiful healthy lines, the additional health testing we do on our breeding cats, and the individual socialization and care each kitten receives. Pricing may be adjusted as our breeding program evolves.

Our Application is Open! 🥳. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and placed into our application pool.

Approved applicants who are a strong match for an upcoming kitten will typically be contacted within 2 weeks of submitting their application.

Due to the volume of interest, we’re unable to respond individually to every application. Families who are selected will be contacted directly.

 If your application is selected for further consideration, we will schedule a 30-minute phone call to ensure we are a good mutual fit. If we decide to move forward, you may pick from our available kittens.  

After you’ve selected your kitten, a contract will be sent via email and must be signed and returned within 72 hours. Once the contract is completed, a non-refundable reservation fee of $1000 is required via Zelle to secure your kitten.

Currently we ONLY accept Zelle for payment. 

We do not ship any of our kittens; however, we are located 1.5 hours from NYC and the surrounding airports. We are also close to Westchester Airport as well as Albany. We can meet you with your kitten at any of these airports for a nominal fee. Additionally we can recommend trusted flight nannies to deliver your kitten directly to an airport closest to you. 

Kittens are thoughtfully raised in our home and leave with age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, comprehensive veterinary evaluations, and preventative care. Each kitten comes with a comprehensive health certificate, temperature-sensing microchip, a travel carrier with our genuine sheepskin, your kitten’s current food, a small bag of litter, and some toys to ensure a smooth transition to their new home.

Each Feathercoons kitten is placed exclusively as a cherished companion and is enrolled in Feathercoons’ breeder-directed sterilization program prior to leaving the cattery. Breeding rights are never offered, transferred, or implied, and all placements are made with the expectation of lifelong companionship and responsible ownership.

Additionally, every kitten is placed with a two-year genetic life guarantee, one month of free pet insurance, and continued breeder support for the life of your kitten.
