Adoption Process for Maine Coon Kittens at Feathercoons

We will open our Applications again when we anticipate having kittens available. When they do open, they are reviewed on a rolling basis and placed into our application pool.

Approved applicants who are a strong match for an upcoming kitten will typically be contacted (usually within a week of submitting their application). 

Due to the volume of interest, we’re unable to respond individually to every application. Families who are selected will be contacted directly.

Finding the right home for each kitten is incredibly important to us! Our application helps us learn a little about prospective families, their household, other pets, and what they are hoping for in a Maine Coon companion.

Applications are reviewed thoughtfully rather than on a first-come, first-served basis. When we have an upcoming litter, we contact families whose homes and preferences appear to be a good match for our kittens.

 If your application is selected for further consideration, we will schedule a 30-minute phone call to ensure we are a good mutual fit. If we decide to move forward, you may pick from our available kittens.  

After you’ve selected your kitten, a contract will be sent via email and must be signed and returned within 72 hours. Once the contract is completed, a non-refundable reservation fee is required via Zelle to secure your kitten.

Pricing for our upcoming litters will be announced once breeding plans and availability are confirmed. Feathercoons kittens are typically priced in the $4,000–$4,500 range, depending on the individual kitten and placement. Final pricing for future litters is subject to change.

Our kittens are raised in our home with extensive individual care and socialization. Our breeding cats undergo comprehensive health screening, and considerable research goes into the pedigrees and lines behind each pairing.

Currently we ONLY accept Zelle for payment. 

We do not ship any of our kittens; however, we are located 1.5 hours from NYC and the surrounding airports. We are also close to Westchester Airport as well as Albany. We can meet you with your kitten at any of these airports for a nominal fee. Additionally we can recommend trusted flight nannies to deliver your kitten directly to an airport closest to you. 

Kittens are thoughtfully raised in our home and leave with age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, comprehensive veterinary evaluations, and preventative care. Each kitten comes with a comprehensive health certificate, temperature-sensing microchip, a travel carrier, your kitten’s current food, a small bag of litter, and some toys to ensure a smooth transition to their new home.

Each Feathercoons kitten is placed exclusively as a cherished companion and is enrolled in Feathercoons’ breeder-directed sterilization program prior to leaving the cattery. Breeding rights are never offered, transferred, or implied, and all placements are made with the expectation of lifelong companionship and responsible ownership.

Additionally, every kitten is placed with a two-year genetic life guarantee, one month of free pet insurance, and continued breeder support for the life of your kitten.
