About Baby Willow

Fluffy grey and white cat with expressive ears.

Our Story

Baby Willow was born on April 21, 2026, as one SUPER beautiful and super special singleton kitten💖. From the beginning, we knew that one of her front legs developed differently, possibly due to her prenatal development. What Baby Willow doesn’t seem to know is that there is anything different about her at all. She is absolutely gorgeous—her coat color happens to be one of my personal favorites—and she is also a complete little spitfire! She runs, plays, climbs and gets herself into just as much trouble as any other kitten around here. Her little leg has never made her any less beautiful to us, nor has it done much to slow her down.

Her Medical Journey

We initially hoped we might be able to improve the position and development of Baby Willow’s leg through splinting, and we gave it our best shot. After weeks of splinting, several rounds of X-rays and conversations with three different veterinarians—including an orthopedic specialist—it became clear that it just wasn’t going to give us the outcome we had hoped for. At this point, amputation has been recommended as the best option for Baby Willow’s long-term comfort and mobility. She will have her surgery next month and, of course, she isn’t going anywhere until we have had plenty of time to watch her recover. We expect to keep her with us for at least another month afterward before making any decisions about her new home (sometime in October when she will be just about 6 mos). We are accepting applications now, although—as anyone who knows us can probably guess—we are going to be exceptionally particular about where this girl goes. ❤️

Personality/Home

And then there is Baby Willow’s personality. 😂 This kitten has NO fear and approaches every cat in this house with completely uninhibited enthusiasm. Unfortunately, nobody ever explained to her that the other cat is supposed to agree to the friendship first. As a true singleton, she came into the world a little socially awkward and apparently missed the memo on basic kitty manners. Thankfully, our younger females have taken over her education and are doing a pretty good job of teaching her how to actually be a cat. Because of this, Baby Willow will need a home that understands her particular brand of chaos. If there are other pets, they will need to be patient and tolerant of a socially awkward kitten—or, even better, she may do wonderfully with a younger, playful cat who can keep up with her and continue teaching her the finer points of feline etiquette. Underneath all of that silliness is an incredibly resilient, affectionate and joyful little girl who seems determined to experience absolutely everything life has to offer.

Before You Reach Out!

A note about Baby Willow’s placement: While her adoption fee will be significantly less than our usual kitten price, there will be an adoption fee. Once Baby Willow has had her surgery and we have a better understanding of any considerations for her continued care as a three-legged kitty, I’ll be able to determine an appropriate fee and discuss those details with potential families. As always, finding the right home for Willow will be far more important than anything else. ❤️. If interested, please tell us more about your home and your family (pets and kids ages). Please note: pictures are preferred to allow me to better understand where our little spitfire can settle down and call home😻🥰. We are looking forward to hearing from you💗
